I am a proud mother of three absolutely wonderful daughters along with 3 precious grandchildren. My family is native to the Outer Banks and North Carolina. I have watched the Outer Banks evolve from sand to sand castles. As a child I spent most of my summers in Currituck/Dare County. Some of my fondest memories include spending time at my grandparents house along the Currituck Sound crabbing, fishing, swimming, water skiing, and hot summer evenings listening to stories of days gone by. I especially remember attending the annual homecoming service and feast at the little church my grandparents pastored in East Lake, NC while swatting away BIG mosquitoes.
I am a NC Licensed Real Estate Broker, Realtor and a Graduate of the Realtor Institute (GRI). I started my real estate career in the vacation rental industry in 1986. Some of my experiences included accounting, housekeeping, maintenance, Property Management and Broker-in-Charge. I enjoy technology and spent several years training in the field of computers studying Microsoft Engineering. I currently list and sell Real Estate on the Outer Banks. I have worked in and owned several successful Real Estate companies on the Outer Banks. I have served on the Board of Directors for the Outer Banks Association of Realtors from 2004-2006 as chairperson for the Property Management and Membership committee along with serving on various other community organizations such as the Outer Banks Transportation Task Force and CDC Underutilized Housing Committee amongst other community involvement.  Rosie Hansen: Assistant to Property Manager
Rosie has over 8 years experience in long-term year round rentals. Rosie works closely with Lori London to insure that Gateway Realty's clients are given the outstanding service they deserve. In addition to clients services Rosie assists tenants with property inspections, inventory, maintenance and showing properties to perspective tenants.
Along with being a Team-member, Rosie is sometimes referred to as "The Life of The Office". She always a smile on her face and a joke to tell. She keeps our office a wonderful place to work.
Rosie loves to fish. She is quite the sports woman. When she is not working or spending time with her family you can find her on the boat hoping to catch the "Big One".
 Michelle Portoukalian: Office Manager.
Michelle comes to Gateway Realty with over 10 years experience in the Real Estate/Vacation Rental/Construction Industry. Michelle oversees the office and works closely with Lori and Rosie insure that Gateway's clients are given the best in customer service.
Michelle's employment experience includes overseeing the Multiple Listing Service for the Outer Banks Association of Realtors while assisting over 1000 Realtors with their MLS needs. She also has over 6 years experience in the Vacation Industry assisting guests with reservations, maintenance, and serving as housekeeping supervisor.
Michelle attended the University of Georgia majoring in the Arts. When Michelle is not working she loves spending time with her daughter while teaching her to paint and sketch along with volunteering in the Arts. |
